BWADC's FOUNDRY

 

The idea of this Yard is to use the Cast iron scrap material, which results from the repair of the old network to reproduce new pipe fittings for use in laying new pipelines or repairing the old pipes. This has reduced the maintenance costs of BWADC and served solving the unemployment problem in the governorate.

In the meantime there are plans to improved and increase the quality and the quantity of the production to cover all the needs of the BWADC maintenance scheme as well as the plans of the network extension.

 

Development plan follows in two parallel lines

 

1-  Development production lines from Al Kiomla ovens to increase the production to 3000 tons yearly from Gray cast iron and development of the using equipments and machines to achieve the quality according to the standard specifications

 

2- To create an advanced technology with the entrance of the ovens of the electric incitement and establishment the spectral  and metallographic analysis laboratory to  product foundries with high quality from the flexible iron cast identical with the international specifications ISO 2531 and product kinds of the carbonic and ingot demand resister of filings and erosion by an initial production capacity 2500 tons / year with the concentration of the production on the special pieces from the flexible cast iron.

 

There is a unite for fusing copper, product valves lengths 1", 5", 2" and outlet valves from copper

 

the company seeks always more development and update for the service of water and drainage sector.

 

Electrical standard Lab

 

Completion of the achievement programme, established an electrical standard laboratory to achieve the following:-

 

Testing of the measurement system of main plants, Compact units, Wells and pumping yearly according the time schedule.

 

Design and install Electrical switchboard for new plants.


Titration of pumps and specification of pump separately.

 

The maintenance workshops

BWADC has constructed a fully equipped central workshop to serve all the water treatment plants and to follow up all substantial repairs and overhauls to be carried out.
These facilities have decreased the cost of maintenance and repair of the treatment works equipments in addition to the repairs of Vehicles, Trucks, Heavy Machinery and the chlorine and chemical equipments.
There are also facilities for mobile workshops for emergency works and repair.
