  Geo-graphic Information System (GIS)

BWADC has installed GIS to strengthen its management information system's by introducing on the digital maps of Beheira Governorate. The system is interfaced with a hydraulic simulation model for the analysis of water distribution networks.
The system is utilized in the design of new network, the rehabilitation and extension of existing water networks and a monitoring and optimizing the operation of the distribution facilities. Most of the networks of the main cities and countryside
have been completed.

Information Systems Administration:


Information systems administration was established on 18/3/2003 to complete information technology groups with the aim of:

·  Collecting and analyzing all types of data to serve the company different sectors.

·   Operate studies to simplify the procedures in the company sectors and reply for the inquiries of the external authorities about the activities of the company.

·     Providing the top management with the needed data and information about the company different sectors to help them in decision making process.

·    Taking the procedures of forming a complete information system connected with the sub-information systems in the company to benefit from the systems outputs.

·    Collect, organize and classify legislations, instructions and the information that will serve the company targets.

·    Update and develop the company site on the internet regularly.

 Planning & Designing Programmes Administration:

The administration was established in 1995 to carry out the following tasks:

Analyze, plan, and design programmes through the following steps:

-   Study the manual system and the documentary circles to transfer it into an electronical system.

-    Drawing flow charts.

-    Use the suitable programming language.

-    Experiment the designed programmes.

-    Approve and operate the programme.

-    Solve any sudden problem and develop the programmes regularly.

  Financial and Commercial Information Systems

.        According to the company many works in the financial, commercial and technical fields it has established a developed computer center to serve bills system, financial accounts, stocks accounts, salaries, costs accounts and personnel database.

·     The company has established sub-computer centers in all the branches and connected them with the central computer through telephone lines.

·     Reading customer's counters process has been automated by the use of hand held units to avoid human mistakes in reading and recording the counters reading.

·    Install and operate the system in 1992 with micro fax 3300 sets with  storing capacity 750 MB and main memory 32MB

·    VAX 6000/410 set was added.

·    Increasing the data storing capacity to 2 MB.

·    Data storing cabin (EVA 8000 SAN) with a capacity of 1 TB.

·     All the sets of VAX 6000 & MicroVAX have been replaced with Alpha Server.

·     In 2000, BWADC used ORACLE RDB instead of RDB.

Administrative Information Systems:

Applying the electronic archiving system for all the documents in the company different sectors with the aim of facilitating restoring or printing any file instead of dealing with the original documents. This system will keep the company original files away of damage.

Maintenance Information System

plants maintenance program:
Preventive maintenance programs has been automated to achieve good result by issuing daily and weekly maintenance plans to avoid sudden defects.

Laboratories Information Systems:

- The company central laboratory and Sub-laboratories has been supplied with computers.

- Designing programmes to record and analyze water samples result in the main plants, compact units, wells and networks.

- Make a comparison between the results of water samples in the central Laboratory and the Sub-laboratories.

Underground Water Information Systems:

Prepare and design a data base for the artesian wells in the governorate with the help of local experiences like (Underground Water Research Institute) and foreign experience like (Amsterdam Water Co. and the Netherlands Management Co-operation program) (NMCP) and currently BNC (Beheira Netherlands Co-operation).
